Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic that helps parents navigate through the unknowns of their child’s early development foundation and throughout their life. We are committed to providing exceptional care to children who require special attention and personalized care. Below is a list of frequently asked questions by new patients’ guardians or caregivers when choosing Pediatric Therapy as their pediatric clinic. At Pediatric Therapy, we believe that all children should be empowered to achieve their full potential and excel in their environment. These FAQs below could help you decide what the next step should be in the growth and development of your child.

Therapy services should begin immediately upon diagnosis of the condition. Children in therapy become equipped to overcome any developmental problems sooner than those who are not in therapy.

You will need a referral from your family pediatrician, who will fax it to us. Once received, we’ll contact you within 24 hours to setup an initial evaluation.

Please be sure to bring your

✓ photo ID

✓ insurance card

✓ a copy of a doctor’s referral if your insurance requires one.

Also, be sure to bring a completed new patient packet in order to save time filling out paperwork.

Your child will be having fun and actively participating during therapy so make sure they are dressed to do so! Standard athletic clothes or pants are appropriate. Comfortable shoes are always a good idea!

That depends on how many services your child receives. Generally, a session lasts 45-60 minutes; a good rule of thumb is to budget an hour per service.

Our therapists provide updates on your child’s progress at the end of each therapy session as well as offer suggestions for additional carryover at home.

Visit frequency is determined by our licensed therapist’s individualized plan of care for your child and the level of progress seen in the children.

We offer appointment slots Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

All forms of payment are accepted, including online payment options. We file claims with most private insurance plans and South Carolina Medicaid.

We are contracted providers for most major insurance companies. If you want to verify your network status with your insurance provider, please call us at (803)-642-0700 in Aiken or (803)-356-4782 in Lexington.

While these services are important, it is often appropriate and beneficial to include medical-based outpatient therapies as well. Our Early Interventionists will discuss the benefits of adding outpatient services if they think your child would benefit.
